Normal hours to resume week of Jan. 23

UPDATE 1/20: Both Atlantic City Free Public Library locations – the Main Library at 1 North Tennessee Ave. and Richmond Branch Library at 4115 Ventnor Ave. – will resume their regular hours of operation the week of Jan. 23.

Main Library will be open 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Richmond Branch Library will be open 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Main Library was closed for three weeks after burst sprinkler system pipes were discovered on Christmas. The building suffered extensive water damage as a result. Main Library reopened Jan. 17 with reduced hours.

Most services and resources regularly offered at Main Library will be available while repair work takes place over the next few months.

UPDATE 1/13: The Main Library – located at 1 North Tennessee Ave. – will reopen to the public Tuesday, Jan. 17, with reduced hours. The library has been closed since late December after suffering extensive water damage caused by sprinkler system pipes that had burst.

Virtual programs will beheld as scheduled, and some in-person library programs and classes will take place. The library’s BEST program, which includes ServSafe and Guest Services training, and Fresh Start program will resume next week. Please call (609) 345-2269 or go to the events calendar at www.acfpl.org to check on the status of the library’s programs.

“It’s a credit to our staff and the immediate assistance provided by the Mayor’s Office and City Risk Manager Nancy Egrie that we are able to restore library services so quickly considering the damage the building suffered,” Library Director Robert Rynkiewicz said. “We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and ask for the public’s patience as repair work will be on going for the next few months.”

The Atlantic City Free Public Library will again offer expanded hours at its Richmond Branch location (4115 Ventnor Ave.) from Jan. 17-21. Richmond Branch will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
