On a picture perfect day with cool temperatures and sunny skies, families and people of all ages came out to enjoy the festivities at the Atlantic City Library Family Fun Festival on Sept. 26. An estimated 2,500 people attended the second annual festival, which was held on Tennessee Avenue next to the Main Library. The festival featured an array of performances, including poetry by local teens; music by Michael Hoebler, the Cason Express Band and Island Jam; storytelling through face painting by Agostino Arts; a magic show featuring Chad Juros and Capoeira martial arts demonstration by Freestyle Martial Arts Academy of Northfield.
There were plenty of fun activities to choose from, including: spin art, face painting, games such as a basketball shot, moon bounces and much more. Also, the festival featured appearances by a stilt walker, clown and balloon artist. The festival was sponsored by the Atlantic City Free Public Library and City of Atlantic City, in partnership with the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, Richard Stockton College – Carnegie Library Center in Atlantic City and Special Improvement District. The Atlantic City Fire Department, Atlantic County Municipal Utilities Authority, Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New Jersey, International House of Blues Foundation, Los Amigos and Main Street Atlantic City also contributed.
